Overview
Titan Door Systems was engaged to supply and install four HY3000 Full Projection Doors as part of the Geelong Arts Centre project.
The installation comprised two outward projecting doors and two inward projecting doors, providing a purpose designed solution for the restricted loading dock areas.
A key challenge of the project was the extremely limited side room available around the door openings. Among the competing door systems considered for the project, our HY3000 stood out as the preferred solution due to its exceptionally compact operating requirements.
The HY3000 system allowed the doors to operate within just 100 mm of side room, maximising the available clear opening through the loading docks.
A conventional counterweighted door system would have required approximately 250 mm of side room on each side, reducing the available drive through clearance by approximately 500 mm.
In a loading dock environment where every millimetre of usable access matters, sacrificing half a metre of clear opening was simply not practical.
By utilising the HY3000 Full Projection Door system, Titan was able to provide the required door functionality while preserving the maximum possible drive through clearance, demonstrating the advantage of a purpose designed solution where conventional door systems could not meet the spatial constraints of the project.
